Wristband tests to monitor vital signs start in hospital environment

At the beginning of this month, the testing phase of the Hospital Bracelets began, devices wearables medical grade, as a way of quickly acquiring vital signs in an outpatient setting.

This phase aims to test the validity of the parameters measured, including heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, peripheral oxygen saturation and body temperature. The tests are taking place in collaboration with the Unidade Local de Saúde São João, involving health professionals from a Surgical Ward and Intensive Care Unit.

The evaluation of these devices focuses on their efficiency and adaptation to the needs of healthcare professionals and hospital logistics, through a series of tests. In addition to verifying the usefulness of the wristbands in a real clinical context, the aim is to identify possible gaps or areas for improvement in order to optimize their performance and impact on hospital practice.

The data collected, such as measurement accuracy, ease of use, battery life, integration with information systems and user satisfaction, will then be analysed to improve the functionality of these devices and maximize their benefit for both healthcare professionals and patients.
