4LifeLAB debates the challenges of pre-hospital emergency at the 2nd National Congress on Pre-Hospital Emergency

On May 23rd and 24th, 4LifeLAB attended the 2nd National Congress on Pre-Hospital Emergencies, held in Funchal. The event brought together experts and entities from the sector to discuss the challenges and advances in the response to medical emergencies in a pre-hospital context.

The Congress began with a debriefing of “PROCIVEX 24”, a disaster drill in Madeira, in which 4LifeLAB took part. This was followed by debates on the current and future challenges of pre-hospital emergency.

At the conference on “Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence”, António Marques, head of the Advanced Medical Ventilator project, discussed the role of technological innovation in emergencies. Rui Cerqueira, responsible for the Advanced Air Mobility project, presented the topic “Advanced Air Mobility – state of the art in emergencies”. 4LifeLAB thus reaffirmed its commitment to innovation in healthcare, promoting technological solutions that improve the effectiveness of emergency services.

Under the motto “When the (Im)foreseen happens”, the Congress is the result of a joint organization between the Regional Medical Emergency Service of Madeira (SEMER), the Regional Civil Protection Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SRPC-RAM) and the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), reinforcing the importance of cooperation between entities in optimizing the response to medical emergencies.
