Partnership between 4LifeLAB and the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority boosts the use of drones in drills and emergency exercises

A working meeting organized by 4LifeLAB as part of the Advanced Air Mobility project took place on October 31. The meeting was attended by Commander André Fernandes, from the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), and members of the Special Civil Protection Force (FEPC). This meeting marked the start of a new partnership of high public interest, aimed at integrating drones into emergency operations and drills in the Air Mobility in Health Systems sector.

According to Rui Cerqueira, project manager, “the collaboration represents a significant step forward for the Advanced Air Mobility project, which involves 4LifeLAB and partners such as Unidade Local de Saúde (ULS) de São João, NOS, Everythink and Eliot. This project is part of the Health from Portugal (HfPT) Mobilizing Agenda, integrated into the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), and seeks to boost technological development at the service of the community, making a strategic contribution to the future of Emergency Medicine in Portugal.”

Taking advantage of scientific, medical, engineering and industrial excellence, 4LifeLAB aims to develop, industrialize and certify cutting-edge medical devices and associated systems, promoting innovative practices to improve clinical results in contexts such as emergency medicine.

With this partnership, the use of drones in emergency scenarios gains new impetus, promoting greater effectiveness in operations and contributing to the modernization and efficiency of civil protection and emergency medical services.
